Planning

A specialised designer was appointed during pre-construction to finalise the initial design concept.

Once on-site, the design evolved in response to sitespecific issues, and we worked closely with Leicester City Council to adjust and approve each modification.

Construction

The ramp’s components were manufactured in the main Oliveti workshop and transported to the site for assembly.

The project was executed in a single phase and carefully planned to accommodate necessary design changes while maintaining progress. Continuous communication with Leicester City Council allowed the team to implement adjustments swiftly.

Outcome

The Marsden Lane Pedestrian and Cycle Ramp was completed on schedule, marking a significant milestone for the community.

This project not only met all timeline and quality targets but also transformed accessibility in the area, creating a safe, beautifully designed pathway for pedestrians and cyclists alike.

The local community’s excitement and anticipation were palpable throughout the project, as many had previously been unable to visit the area due to its inaccessibility. For some, the moment they were able to use the ramp — especially those in wheelchairs — was deeply emotional. Witnessing their joy and gratitude underscored the lifechanging impact of this initiative, making it a source of immense pride for everyone involved.
